Can chiropractic help me? Chiropractors reduce interferences to your nervous system (caused by vertebral subluxations) which would hinder your body's potential for health. Since the nerve system controls every function in the body, it is important to realize that all people are better off without subluxations no matter what. Only a chiropractor is qualified to detect subluxations in the spine and correct them with specific chiropractic adjustments. How do you know if you have subluxations? Sometimes subluxations will cause pain and muscle spasms. However, often times there are no symptoms experienced from the subluxation. A chiropractor will be able to determine if you have subluxations in your spine. What causes subluxations? Any fall or accident could cause subluxations. So could poor posture, physical or emotional stress, or any one of a dozen other things. In fact, almost everyone gets subluxations at sometime or other, often in childhood. What is a chiropractic adjustment? It is a gentle force applied to the spine through the muscles which enables subluxated vertebrae to go back to their normal position, thus allowing proper nerve flow to and from the brain. Once you get adjusted do you have to keep going forever? Taking care of your spine is like taking care of your teeth. You only have to keep going to the chiropractor as long as you want to experience good health. Does it hurt to get adjusted? Getting adjusted does not hurt. It is very gentle and should be a pleasant experience. I thought chiropractic was just for bad backs, isn't that true? Chiropractic is very effective in helping people with back problems caused by a vertebral Subluxation. However, chiropractic has always been a means of preventative health care. The reason more people don't consider chiropractic care is because of our focus on the present instead of the future in our society. How often do you attend to regular maintenance of your car or house? When was the last time you backed-up your computer? See! Many of us view health the same way; we keep going until something breaks, then we try and fix the problem, rather than preventing it from happening. |
